1) methodological and legal support for the protection of archaeological heritage:

– consultations and preparation of specialized responses to inquiries regarding the protection of archaeological heritage in the community, information, references, etc.;

– methodological support for concluding security agreements;

– other methodological consultations and resolving current issues in the sector of archaeological heritage protection in the community.

2) work on identifying and recording cultural heritage objects, their inventory and monitoring , drawing up relevant technical condition inspection reports and conservation status reports.

According to Article 3, Section VI of the Order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine dated June 27, 2019 No. 501 “On Amendments to the Procedure for Accounting for Cultural Heritage Objects”, the executive bodies of the village, settlement, and city councils carry out constant monitoring (at least once a year) of cultural heritage objects located in the territory covered by the powers of such bodies.

In accordance with Article 4 of Section VI of the Order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine dated June 27, 2019 No. 501 “On Amendments to the Procedure for Accounting for Cultural Heritage Objects”, the executive bodies of the village, settlement, and city councils carry out periodic monitoring (at least once every 5 years) of these same objects by collecting, processing, and analyzing information about the cultural heritage object and the protected territory with direct visual inspection of it on site.

The Center, as a specialized research and monument protection institution, can undertake the implementation of the above-mentioned works and activities.

3) preparation and updating of accounting documentation for cultural heritage sites for their inclusion in the List of Cultural Heritage Sites:

— List of newly discovered objects (historical information, photographic materials),

— Register of immovable cultural heritage as a monument (registration card, two acts, historical certificate),

This also includes scientific and methodological support of the specified documentation for its passage through the Advisory Council at the State Committee for the Development of the Republic of Ukraine.

According to Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Cultural Heritage”, executive authorities and local self-government bodies promote the activities of research and design organizations, institutions and enterprises of various forms of ownership in the protection of cultural heritage.

In accordance with Article 5 of Section VI of the Order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine dated June 27, 2019 No. 501 “On Amendments to the Procedure for Accounting for Cultural Heritage Objects”, scientific institutions (for example, our Center) independently or at the request of cultural heritage protection bodies (which are, in particular, executive bodies of village, settlement, city councils) conduct relevant research to identify cultural heritage objects, compile accounting documentation for them, determine protection zones or obtain new knowledge about the monument, its characteristic properties, territory, mode of use, as well as in the event of changes in the condition of the monument, the emergence of a threat to its preservation.

The Center can perform all of the above-mentioned works on archaeological heritage sites, as well as on individual monuments of other types (history, architecture, etc.), by agreement and as needed.

4) conducting research to identify cultural heritage sites, determine their protection zones, or obtain new knowledge about the monument, its characteristic properties, territory, and mode of use.

5) archaeological scientific, rescue and protection research – excavations, exploration (after receiving an Open Letter and a Permit from the Ministry of Culture, Shop and Tourism).

6) search research (implementation of scientific research work on the search and reburial of victims of military-political repressions of the first half of the 20th century) (after obtaining permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications).

7) preparation of historical references, information, compilation of lists, production of information and cartographic materials for the preparation of EIA projects, General Plans and IAOP, strategies for the development of territories and communities, etc., other scientific and bibliographic research, review of accounting and scientific and project documentation, preparation of tourist routes, organization of excursions, creation of graphic and video presentations for the development of cultural and tourist potential, organization of the production of signs and security boards, etc.;

8) development of scientific and design documentation on determining the boundaries and regimes of use of the territory of the monument and determining the boundaries and regimes of protection zones of the archaeological monument, performing a monetary valuation of the archaeological monument;

9) preparation and printing of printed tourist, monument preservation, scientific and popular science literature on cultural heritage monuments.
